Crytek Plans To Shift Its Focus To “Free To Play” Games

Ok first of all I would like to ask you a question. Which game comes in your mind when you hear the phrase “Free To Play”? Probably any flash game on the internet or any Facebook game. Right?
Well now within a couple of years the definition of Free To Play games will change and we will be playing high graphics games instead of cartoon styled graphics games.
Crytek the company which has already developed many amazing games such as Crysis, Far Cry and which is already developing Free To Play games such as Warface, is willing to shift its focus completely on Free To Play Games so it can produce high quality Free To Play games.
Cevat Yerli, The CEO of Crytek said in an interview with GamesBeat:
“We decided five or six years ago that we want to marry the quality of triple-A games with the business model of free-to-play, And out of that position, Gface and Warface were born. And at that time, we decided some other games, in some of our other studios, would head in this direction. But we kept pushing the quality bar higher on our console business, which is the main dominating business for the Western world, but we are observing, plainly — and we see this already with Warface — that the free-to-play market is on the rise. I think over the next two to three years, free-to-play is going to rival retail with quality games like Warface.”
Cevat Yerli not only spoke about his plans on PC but he also talked about his plans regarding Free To Play games on Consoles. He said that currently they have retail games on consoles but they are planning to develop free to play games on Consoles.
